John Herbert Stillman, 70, a resident of Windsor, died Aug. 23, 1995, in Hillhaven Nansemond Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Suffolk.
He was a Baptist and retired in 1985 from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a maintenancae machinist. He was a native of Ashtabula, Ohio, and the son of the late Rex and Mina Gowdy Stillman.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Mixer Stillman of Windsor; two sons, John C. Stillman of Windsor, and Timothy K. Stillman of Suffolk; two daughters, Shirley S. Dawson of Zuni, and Victoria L. Sulin of Windsor; two brothers, James H. Stillman of Geneva, Ohio and Donald Stillman of Kellogsville, Ohio; two sisters, Dorothy S. Bonecutter of Cincinnati, Ohio and Rachel S. Luce of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield on Saturday, Aug. 26, 1995, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Kennard Brackney. Burial will be in Woodlawn United Methodist Church Cemetery, Orbit. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday evening. Memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Volunteer Rescue Squad or a charity of your choice.
