UNAIRED FLYING STORY

On Aug. 11, approximately 250 privately owned World War II aircraft flew over the Statue of Liberty, dropping hundreds of roses in honor of the brave Americans who gave their lives in World War II.

These pilots took the time and expense to honor their fallen heroes, many flying long hours from California, Florida and Texas in their restored aircraft. Except for a few-seconds' segment on CNN, no mention of this patriotic event appeared on any of the major networks. Crime and trials took precedence.

I am grateful to all the pilots who cared enough to fly this mission. It was a beautiful tribute. I am proud to say my husband was one of the ones who cared.
