Edmond L. Baker, 73, of the 5600 block of Normany Ave., died Aug. 23, 1995, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
He was a native of Chocowinity, N.C., and was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk. He was the retired owner/contractor of Baker's Concrete and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Dodd Baker; two daughters, Pearl B. Crichton and Lisa B. Robinson, both of Virginia Beach; three sons, Edmond P. ``Buddy'' Baker of Chesapeake, Randolph D. Baker of Norfolk, and Howard D. Baker of Virginia Beach; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Evadell Baker of Chocowinity and Cissie Lewis of South Wales, U.K.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. George Baker. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for visitation.
