CHARLES S. LAWRENCE

Charles Surlester ``Bo-Peep'' Lawrence, of the 800 block of Maymont St., died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

Mr. Lawrence was a retired barber at Todd's Barber Shop on Church Street. He was born in Norfolk, Va., and attended public schools here.

Survivors include, one daughter, Nina McKinney; a son-in-law, Chester McKinney; and two grandsons, Malcolm and Marcus McKinney; four sisters, Mamie L. Ratliff of Norfolk, Irma L. Hines of Chesapeake, Sylvia Jerry of Memphis, Tenn., Marian Peterson of New Rochelle, N.Y.; and a foster sister and caretaker, Carolyn Ransom of Portsmouth; a brother, Tyrone Lawrence of Virginia Beach; a sister-in-law, Regina Lawrence; brother-in-law, Robert Ratliff; and seven nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Surlester and Alice Lawrence.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28, 1995, in Graves Funeral Chapel, Norfolk. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 1995, in Graves Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
