LANGLEY AIRMEN HEAD FOR GULF

Airmen of the 1st Fighter Wing's 74th Air Control Squadron at

Langley Air Force Base prepare to board one of eight C-17s, the Air

Force's newest transport plane, for a flight to Kuwait today to

support a military exercise intended to flex the U.S. military

muscle in the Persian Gulf. The C-17s and eight C-5s carried 70

Langley airmen along with 40 others from Air Force bases in South

Carolina, Florida and Utah and more than 1 million pounds of

equipment to the Persian Gulf.
