Detectives have charged a 48-year-old man who often baby-sat neighborhood children with 22 sex crimes for abusing two 9-year-old girls, police said Friday.
Thomas Walter Collins of the 3000 block of Blackstone Court was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of sexual abuse involving one of the girls. Detectives then found an additional victim and lodged more charges against Collins.
Police spokesman Lou Thurston said Collins offered free child care to Magic Hollow-area parents, and sometimes girls would spend the night in his home. During those visits, Collins allegedly assaulted the girls.
