Margaret Ashlin Wadsworth Gatewood, 79, of 104 Baum Bay Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 1995, in Albemarle Hospital.
Mrs. Gatewood was a native of Gardiner, Maine, and was a member of St. Andrews by the Sea Church. She was the daughter of the late John Thaddeus and Kathryn Taliaferro Wadsworth, and the widow of E. Howard Gatewood.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Upshaw of Eugene, Ore., and Ashlin Eggert of Arlington Heights, Ill.; one son, John Wadsworth Gatewood of Madison, Wis.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted in the Amherst Cemetery in Amherst, Va., on Friday, Sept. 1, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. John A. Pedlar officiating. A memorial service will be conducted at St. Andrews by the Sea, 4212 S. Virginia Dare Trail, Nags Head, N.C., on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 5 p.m. The family will be at the residence. Twiford's Northside Chapel, Elizabeth City, is in charge of arrangements.
