Maria Catalina ``Candy'' Villorente, 20, of Rt. 1, Box 215, died Aug. 28, 1995, in Chesapeake, Va., as the result of an auto accident.
Candy, a native of Richmond, was a third-year student at East Carolina University and was a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She was a champion gymnast formerly associated with the Ocean Tumblers, and was a member of the U.S. Gymnast Federation.
Survivors include her parents, C.D. ``Villy'' Villorente and Maria Ellard Villorente of Moyock; two brothers, Dennis E. Villorente of Portsmouth, Gerald L. Villorente of San Francisco; maternal grandmother, Willene K. Herring of Moyock; a niece, Brandy N. Villorente of Portsmouth; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Catholic Church, 518 High St., Portsmouth, Va., by the Rev. Joseph Slowik. Burial will be in Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
