MUSIC FESTIVAL GOES ON THROUGH MONDAY

The American Music Festival, one of the biggest musical events on the East Coast, continues through Monday.

The music, featuring national and regional bands, is along the Boardwalk and on the beach. Food and beverage vendors are available. Satellite parking is available at the Pavilion. A $3 charge for parking includes the Hall Auto World shuttle to and from the 5th Street Stage. For information, call 491-SUNN.

Shows are free except Sawyer Brown, Kool and The Gang, and the O'Jays. Tickets for those are $10 in advance from Ticketmaster or $12.50 at the gate. Shows are at the 5th, 17th and 24th street stages. Some shows will have supporting acts before the main event.

Today. Festival hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Band, 17th Street Stage, show time 6:30 p.m.; The Rhondells, 24th Street Stage, show time noon; Sawyer Brown, 5th Street Stage, show time 2 p.m.

Monday. Festival hours: noon to 7 p.m. Kingsmen, 17th Street Stage, show time noon; Kool and the Gang and the O'Jays, 5th Street Stage, show time 2 p.m.

Restrictions during the festival: No beach umbrellas; no bikes permitted at the shows; no ticket refunds and no exchanges; no recording devices; no glass bottles or alcohol allowed.
