Helen H. ``Betsy'' Monroe, 62, of the 3000 block of Lynnhaven Drive, died Sept. 1, 1995, in a local hospital.
She was a native of Roanoke, Va., and was a founding member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She was a retired registered nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Richard H. Monroe; one daughter, Jill J. Monroe of Virginia Beach; one son, Matthew C. Marthinson of Richmond; one stepson, Stephen R. Monroe of Chesapeake; one sister, Margaret H. Rudy of Chester, Va.; one brother, John G. Hesse Jr. of Chester; four grandchildren; one aunt, Madaline H. Slye of Washington, D.C.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in All Saints Episcopal Church by the Rev. Dr. Stanley W. Sawyer. A reception will follow at Baines Hall at the church for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Ocean Park Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc., or to the church's Altar Guild Fund. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
