Dana Sumner Russell, 65, of the 2600 block of Meadows Landing, died Sept. 4, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a native of Hertford County, N.C., and was the widow of Robert L. Russell. She was a retired accountant.
She is survived by three daughters, April R. Nobles, Constance R. Liverman and Crystal R. Scalzo, all of Portsmouth; one son, Arthur L. Russell of Greensboro, N.C.; four sisters, Jean S. Baufle of Norfolk, Mable S. Young of Richmond, Elva S. Harvey of Chesapeake, and Barbara S. Hudgins of Virginia Beach; and five grandchildren, Brian and Leigh Ann Liverman, Julie and Adam Nobles, and Lauren Scalzo.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Frank Carter. Burial is in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
