Peter Eugene Newsom, 36, died Monday, Sept. 4, 1995, at Fairfax Memorial Hospital, Fairfax, Va., as the result of injuries suffered in a bicycle accident while he was on a camping trip.
He was born in Camden, N.J., and was a 1978 graduate of Pennsauken High School, Pennsauken, N.J., where he was a member of the football team in the position of Tackle. He was a Union Representative for the UAW (NU)919 of Norfolk.
He is the son of Charles Wesley Newsom III of Maple Shade, N.J. He is the brother of Charles W. Newsom, IV of Williamstown, N.J., Steven A. Newsom and David J. Newsom both of Pennsauken, Edward Leek of Maple Shade, N.J., Joann Bowers of Marlton, N.J., Beth Moyer of Pennsauken, N.J., and Michelle Leon of Philadelphia, Pa. He is the son of Jean Bachman of Philadelphia, Pa., and the dear son of Elizabeth Kelly of Punta Gorda, Fla.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Stephenson-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Ave., Merchantville, N.J., where a viewing will be held today beginning at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Pennsauken, N.J.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsauken Youth Athletic Activities Association, 3501 Elm Ave., Pennsauken, N.J. 08109, in memory of Peter.
