Ruth Simpkins Robbins, 66, died Sept. 6, 1995, in her residence.
Mrs. Robbins was a native of Washington, D.C. She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. Mrs. Robbins and her husband were the founders and the owners of Bay Towing Corporation. Mrs. Robbins was a member of the Great Bridge Cruising Club.
Survivors include her husband, John C. Robbins, Jr.; one daughter, Lynn ``Chee Chee'' Stephens; two sons, Ray G. Robbins, and John C. Robbins III; one sister, Lilly G. Simpkins all of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Jesse H. Simpkins of Norfolk, Lawrence W. Simpkins of Maryland; and six grandchildren.
A chapel service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday Sept. 9, 1995, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Joseph E. French. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. There will be a visitation in the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
