Thomas L. Haynes Sr., of the 4400 block of Old Princess Anne Road, died Sept. 4, 1995.
Mr. Haynes was retired from Kempsville Building Materials Company. He was born in Princess Anne County, and was a member of Union Baptist Church, Kempsville, Virginia Beach.
Survivors include three daughters, June Riddick and Wanda Bracy, both of Chesapeake, and Linda Haynes Dance of Norfolk; six sons, the Rev. Anthony J. Haynes of Virginia Beach, Dennis L. Haynes Sr., Donald L. Haynes Sr., Thomas L. Haynes Jr., Timothy Haynes, all of Chesapeake, and Fleetwood Croddock of Norfolk; two sisters, Margaret E. Mackey and Gracie D. Mitchell, both of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Leroy Haynes and Raymond Owens, both of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; a special friend, Margaret Blount; an aunt, Margaret Vaughan of Virginia Beach; brothers-in-law, Rudolph Mackey Sr. and Thomas Mitchell; sister-in-law Beatrice Haynes; daughters-in-law Angela Haynes, Veronica Haynes and Jennifer Haynes; son-in-law Kelvin Bracy; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Union Baptist Church, Kempsville, by the Rev. Anthony J. Haynes. Burial will be in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will be at 210 Pritchard Road, Virginia Beach. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
