Connie Schaub, with her daughter Shellie, age 10, is a founding

member of Old Dominion Vanners. Connie has pin-striped her minivan

and added a ladder for easy access to the luggage rack. The smaller

vans are adequate for all vanning activities, she says.

Joe and Sherry Swartz stand beside "Caged Gems," their customized

van. They decorated the full-sized Chevy van to resemble a castle,

including a gold statue on a velvet and gold throne. Features

include a full bed, carpet and storage.

George Meyers, a Vietnam veteran, has customized his full-sized,

"The Dong-Ha Express with scenes from the era. Left, the side panel

was painted from a war photo Meyers took. Right, rear panel shows

copy of an artist's interpretation of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial

in Washington, D.C.
