A 10-year-old Zuni boy, convicted recently of sexual battery against a 6-year-old girl, was ordered into intensive therapy by a Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court judge.
The boy was arrested May 17 and charged with rape and sodomy.
A state law says a minor who is 10 to 14 years old cannot commit rape, so Isle of Wight Commonwealth's Attorney W. Parker Councill asked that the charge be reduced to sexual battery.
Councill said that ``it looks like he may have been acting out what he saw in a movie.'' The boy admitted to sexually assaulting the girl, Councill said.
Sheriff's investigator Larry N. Price said the assault occurred May 5 when the boy was visiting the girl's home.
