The Currents is changing the look of birth announcements and the way
we gather that information.
In the past we have relied on the hospitals for lists of new parents.
We feel we can get the information published faster and with more
information if we simply allow Portsmouth parents to send in the
information directly.
The information we need includes the baby's name, gender and
birthdate, parents' names and address (for verification - we will not
run the address).
We will also include the names of grandparents who live in Portsmouth
or the Western Branch of Chesapeake. However that information is
optional. Sorry we do not have the space to run out-of-town
grandparents.
Birth announcements will run on Sundays and should be sent to The
Currents, 307 County St., Portsmouth, 23704, by the Wednesday before
publication.
