Frances J. Sands, 63, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 1995, in the Norton Community Hospital, Norton, Va.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Coeburn. Survivors include her husband, James M. Sands Sr.; two sons, James Sands Jr., of Chesapeake, and William Basil Sands of Portsmouth; one daughter, Janey Lawrence of Chesapeake; two brothers, Thomas Cole of Hueysville, Ky., and Albert ``Buddy'' Cole of Ocean Springs, Miss.; three sisters, Katie Clark of Deland, Fla., Elvie Martin of Hueysville, and Edna Solome of Texas; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Johnson and the Rev. Joe Ramey officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Va. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Sturgill Funeral Home.
