Clarence Herman Linyear, 78, of the 2800 block of Mapleton Ave., died Sept. 15, 1995, in his home.
He was a native of Norfolk and was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church. He was also a member of Norfolk New Light (NU)196, Masonic Lodge. He was also a World War II Army veteran. He worked as a stevedore for the Naval Supply Center until he retired after 48 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille D. Linyear of Norfolk; four daughters, Shirley Lewis, Sandra Reid, Karon Linyear, Gail Brownlee, all of Norfolk; one son, Dwight H. Linyear, Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be noon Wednesday by Pastor B. Courtney McBath in Calvary Revival Church. Burial is in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in Hale Funeral Home. The family will assemble at his residence.
