Cecil B. Humphrey, of the 5900 block of Tajo Ave., died Sept. 21, 1995, in Sentara Bayside Hospital.
Mr. Humphrey was born in Dallas, N.C., and grew up in Greensboro, N.C. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his devoted and loving sister, Clara H. Echols of the home; one brother, Barney Humphrey of Rochester, N.Y.; two nieces, Sharon Bennett of Virginia Beach, Terri Chaka of Rochester; two nephews, Todd Humphrey of Rochester, and Steven Humphrey of Rochester; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez Smith Humphrey and Barney L. Humphrey.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Covenant Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Octavius A. Gaba. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of Covenant Church, 913 Covenant St. The family will assemble at his residence.
