Earl Bond ``Bird'' Browder, 70, of the 700 block of Mayfield Ave., died Monday, Sept. 25, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was retired from the maintenance department of TARMAC, Inc., after 37 years of service. He was born in Laurel, Miss., reared in Stone County, and was the son of the late Ruby Mae Bond Lee. He was a Baptist, an avid fisherman, hunter, and accomplished gardener.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Nettie G. Browder; two daughters, Linda B. Bennett and husband, Reggie, and Evelyn B. Peglowski and her husband, Dick, all of Norfolk; a son, Robert E. Browder of Norfolk; a sister, Mona Temple Fore of Gulfport, Miss.; two brothers, Robert E. Lee and his wife, Lynne, of Norfolk, and Theron L. Lee of Jenison, Mich; two grandchildren, Jeffrey E. Bennett and his wife, Teri, and Dennis M. Peglowski; a great-granddaughter, Emily T. Bennett, all of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Fred J. Braswell. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. today for visitation and at their Mayfield Avenue residence at all other times. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1500 Sewells Point Road, Norfolk, 23502.
