Helen Rama Zavada, 75, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 1995.
A native of Bowers Hill, Va., she had been a Peninsula resident since 1938 and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mrs. Zavada is survived by her husband, Edmund John Zavada; two daughters, Margaret Z. Endress and her husband, Charles of Texas, and Marianne Zavada of Atlanta; a son Edmund S. Zavada and his wife, Eileen of Newport News; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Jeanne Archer of Great Bridge; one brother-in-law; six sisters-in-law and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by the Rev. Michael Renninger. The interment will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Pauls Cemetery, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. in the church. Memorials may be sent to either the Alzheimers Association or the Lupus Foundation.
