Creed Zack Shirley, 91, of the 300 block of Leonard Road, died Sept. 25, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was a native of Mena, Ark. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, C.W.O., after 32 years. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva M. Shirley; one daughter, Mary S. Swiney of Portsmouth; one son, James A. Shirley of Suffolk; two sisters, Mamie Jo Middleton and Loraine Kenady, both of Mena, Ark.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today in Greenlawn Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. T.M. Frye. Entombment is in Greenlawn Memorial Mausoleum. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
