Elizabeth Houghton Blanford, 89, formerly of Sussex Drive, Portsmouth, died Sept. 27, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a native of Portsmouth and was the widow of Paul G. Blanford. She was the retired co-owner of Houghton Plumbing Co., Portsmouth, and was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church, Portsmouth, Order of Eastern Star-Churchland Chapter.
She is survived by one son, Milton E. Houghton Jr. and his wife Joyce of Murfreesboro, N.C.; stepson, Robert Howell Blanford of Flint, Mich.; sister, Louise Willoughby of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two stepgrandchildren, Joe White of Greenville, N.C., and Travis White of Murfreesboro.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. W. Thomas Wood. Burial is in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Westhaven Baptist Church.
