RAY H. CRAIG

The Rev. Ray Hill Craig, 58, of 6145 Sharon Rd., died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1995, in his home after a period of declining health.

He was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Iredell Co. to the late Charles and Ethel McGee Craig. He was a graduate of Gardner Webb College and Wake Forest Seminary.

Rev. Craig was pastor of South China Grove Baptist Church from 1976-1987; and pastor of Buckhorn Baptist Church, Como, N.C., from April 1987-September 1995 having recently relocated in Salisbury.

He was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church, Como, where he was presented the Pastor Emeritus Award; life member of the Como Ruritan Club; served in U.S. Army; and was volunteer chaplain at Rowan Memorial Hospital and Ahoskie Hospital (former).

He is survived by his wife Nora Curtis Craig; daughters, Mrs. Kimberly Alexander of China Grove, N.C., Mrs. Karen C. Smith of Salisbury, N.C., Kelly V. Craig of Salisbury; brothers, Fred D. Craig of Hudson, N.C., Roy M. Craig of Wilmington, N.C.; two grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 4 p.m. today at South China Grove Baptist Church, the Rev. Derald Adams and Rev. Tom Caulkins officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, N.C. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Como. The family will be at the residence for visitation.
