Richard Davis, 72, died Sept. 27, 1995.
A native of Isle of Wight County, he retired from Gray Lumber Company, Waverly. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and its Trustee Board. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Estelle Davis; two daughters, Sarah A. Davis of Smithfield and Stella D. Brown of Suffolk; two sisters, Louise Hancock of Baltimore, Md., and Helen Eley of Windsor; and one grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Shiloh Baptist Church by the Rev. James Eley Sr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Saturday. The family will assemble at 15428 Courthouse Highway. Viewing will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today in Pretlow and Chapman Funeral Home.
