JAMES A. SCOTT SR.

James A. Scott Sr. , 66, of the 2100 block of Pershing Ave., died Sept. 24, 1995, in a local hospital.

He was a warehouse foreman for SouthGate Terminal Warehouse for 30 years. He was a native of Norfolk and was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ, Norfolk.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Barbara A. Scott; three daughters, Selina A. Scott, Sabrina S. Lawrence, La-Nette S. Beaton; three sons, James A. Scott Jr., Robert S. Scott, and Joseph S. Scott; four sisters; four brothers; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 14 nieces, five nephews, 10 in-laws, and a host of other cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. James Anderson in New Hope United Church of Christ, 145 E. Liberty St., Norfolk. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 2100 Pershing Ave., Norfolk, Saturday at 1 p.m., for the funeral procession to the church. The body will be placed in church noon Saturday. Metropolitan Funeral Home in charge.
