Edwin Milton Hall Jr., 86, a resident at The Village at Woods Edge, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hall was born in Portsmouth and was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach. He was the son of the late Edwin M. and Mary Elizabeth Knapp Hall. Mr. Hall was a graduate of Staunton Military Academy and the Norfolk division of William and Mary where he was a half back on the school's first football team. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was retired from Del Monte Foods Corp. as district sales manager for Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland. He was a member of the Virginia Beach Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge (NU)274 AF & AM, Virginia Beach, Grice Commandry (NU)16 Knights Templar, John Walters Royal Arch Chapter, and the Khedive Temple. Mr. Hall was a past president of the Virginia Beach Civitan Club and the Tidewater Food Dealers Assoc.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sophia Simpson Hall; two cousins, Mabel Campbell of Windsor, Va., and Hall Snellings of Virginia Beach.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. Robert Davis. Mrs. Hall will receive friends at her apartment at The Village At Woods Edge in Franklin, and suggests that memorials be made to the Shriner's Crippled Childrens Hospital, 950 Faris Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605. Wright Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
