Charlie L. Mason, 62, of the 100 block of Grand St., died Sept. 28, 1995, in Manning Convalescent Home, Portsmouth.
Mr. Mason, a retired weight master, worked for the City of Portsmouth for 30 years. He was born in Southampton County, Va., and was a former member of Noble Street Baptist Church, Portsmouth. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include one son, Carlos V. Mason, U.S. Army, of Fort Campbell, Ky.; two brothers, William Mason of Staten Island, N.Y., and Horace Dillard, U.S. Army, of Germany; a devoted friend, Audrey Finch of Portsmouth; two nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth, by the Rev. F.R. Williams. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery with military honors. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Monday for the funeral service.
