Tidewater Regional Transit has simplified its fare structure by eliminating zone fees and charging a flat fare.
The new flat fare is $1.50, and discounted tickets are available for $1 (books of 10 tickets for $10).
The previous fare was $1.10 plus 55 cents for each zone traveled through by the passenger. The new fare will save money for riders going through more than one zone.
TRT also is extending its Guaranteed Connection offer indefinitely. The offer guarantees riders convenient and timely transfers at Direct Transfer Centers, or TRT will give riders a free ride coupon if they miss their transfer.
