I was disappointed to see your newspaper stoop to the 6-inch headline ``Cliffhanger'' on the front page of the paper Oct. 3 in reference to the O.J. Simpson verdict.
I haven't seen a headline that large in my entire lifetime, and certainly there have been far-more-newsworthy events affecting mankind.
This was more indicative of the National Enquirer than The Virginian-Pilot.
Please keep some dignity in the reporting of news. You have a monopoly on the newspaper business in our area and we, the reading public, are entitled to better than this. That entire trial has been a three-ring circus, a feeding frenzy for the press. We are all tired of it! I am really dreading the headline when the verdict actually is announced.
