Floyd Milton Cross, 61, of the 5700 block of Chamber St., died Oct. 4, 1995, in Norfolk.
Mr. Cross, a retired shop supervisor for T.R.T. and Greyhound, worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for 31 years. He was born in Norfolk. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Dog Company 2nd Battalion First Marine Organization.
Survivors include his wife, Lucinda Walthall Cross; three daughters, Lucinda Faye and her husband, Bud Yeatman of Chesapeake, Theresa Lynne and her husband, Ben Tiner Jr. of Chesapeake, Jo Anne Lindsay of Shawboro, N.C.; two sons, Floyd Milton Cross Jr. of Norfolk, and his special friend, Mary Tari, Henry E.W. Cross and his wife, Lisa of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Barbara A. Pethren of Norfolk, Agnes C. Davis of Virginia Beach, Mary Jane Frentz of Royal Oaks, Mich.; four brothers, James E. Cross Jr. of Norfolk, Frank A. Cross of Gloucester, Va., Gale F. Cross of Chesapeake, and William S. Cross of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Michael R. Inks, Stephen W. Inks, Scott Inks, Joseph F. Lindsay, William Lindsay, Bennie C. Tiner III, Eva Marie Tiner. He was preceded in death by five grandchildren, Carey Lindsay, Rachel Tines, Amber Cross, Brother Cross, and David Henry Cross.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Memorial Park by the Rev. James Ritter. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. His first and foremost commitment was to his wife and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife. Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 5767 Sellger Drive, Norfolk.
