Vernon J. White, 97, of the 2300 block of Piedmont Ave, died Oct. 3, 1995.
Mr. White, the widower of Leola White, was retired from Planters Manufacturing Co. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and a teacher of the James Thomas Bible Class for 20 years. He was the treasurer of Tidewater Ushers Assoc. for 10 years.
Survivors include a cousin, Lula M. Price; sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben A. Beamer. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at 1320 Sunnybrook Terrace, Chesapeake. Rogers Funeral Home in charge.
