IDA B. WILLIAMS

Ida B. Williams, age 58, of the 300 block of Beamon St., died Oct. 4, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Mrs. Williams, a native of Como, N.C., was the daughter of the late Earnest S. and Nannie R. Banks. She retired from Home Care Services of Suffolk, Inc., as a registered nurse. She was a member of Diamond Grove Baptist Church, and was a member of the Missionary Society, Sunday School, Sr. Choir, Mass Choir, and Assistant Organist for the Male Chorus. She was also a member of Phi Eta Xi Nursing Sorority, Omega Chapter of Suffolk.

Survivors include her husband, Raiford H. Williams; a stepdaughter, Bettie W. Nichols; two brothers, Ernest L. Banks Sr. and Samuel S. Banks Sr., both of Franklin; four sisters, Rosalind B. Britt of St. Albany, N.Y., Estella B. Worrell of Hampton, Nannie B. Hargraves of Portsmouth, and Henrietta B. Barham of Franklin; one aunt, Georgia Wrench of Franklin; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted by Dr. E.W. Flynn Sr. on Sunday, Oct. 8, 1995, 2 p.m., at Diamond Grove Baptist Church, Franklin. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elvin Vaughan's Funeral Home, Inc., in charge.
