Charles A. Shive, 73, of the 1900 block of N. Lakeland Drive, died Oct. 7, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Shive was born in Lima, Ohio, and was the widower of Imogene Shive. He had been employed with Hoffman Beverage Co. He was a member of American Legion Post 60 and Fleet Reserve Association Branch 60. He was a veteran of the Navy-QM1 (SS) and served from January 1942 through August 1965. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, and also served on several submarines.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Shive Gildea of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ruth Ann Lewis of Solon, Ohio; a brother, Billy Earl Ashton of Ohio; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
