Virginia Beach police inspect a police car that was involved in a
collision with a truck Monday morning at Indian River and Providence
roads in Virginia Beach. Police said Officer Troy Williams was en
route to a domestic dispute when he tried to turn left onto
Providence Road from Indian River Road. His police car collided with
an ITCO Tire Co. truck. Williams, 28, was listed in stable
condition with multiple, but not life-threatening, injuries, Monday
afternoon at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. The truck driver,
Tracy Ganter, 31, was treated at the hospital and released. The
police car and the truck received heavy damage.
