Newport News Shipbuilding will retain its name even as its parent Tenneco Inc. prepares to rename other subsidiaries, the shipyard announced Monday. ``We concluded that the rich heritage and reputation of the Newport News Shipbuilding name was too valuable in the marketplace to warrant a change,'' the release said. Tenneco is moving its headquarters to Connecticut from Houston, reviewing the names of its subsidiaries and releasing a new logo on Nov. 6 in an effort to shake its identity as an energy company.
