MARY L. WATKINS

Mary Lee Watkins, 61, of the 3600 block of Colonial Ave., died Oct. 7, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mrs. Watkins was born in Pittsylvania County, Va., on Nov. 6, 1933. She was the daughter of Julia Johnson and the late Armstead Johnson. Mrs. Watkins, the widow of Alvester Watkins, was a retired dietician. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lamberts Point for over 30 years, and a member of Wheaton Chapter No. 73 OES.

Survivors include her mother, Julia Johnson; two daughters, Linda Jeffers and Angela Watkins, both of Norfolk; two sons, Donald Watkins of New York and Gary Watkins of Norfolk; three grandsons, Carl Jeffers, DeShawn Watkins and Demetrie Watkins; a great-granddaughter, Unique Corprew; five sisters, Clara Monroe of Norfolk, Virginia Davis of Washington, D.C., Ethel Cannon and Shirley Dixion, both of Danville, Va., and Barbara Mark of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, William Johnson of Greensboro, N.C., Armstead Johnson of Washington, D.C., and Willard Johnson of Danville; also left to mourn are a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral will be at noon Friday in First Baptist Church Lamberts Point. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Graves Funeral Home in charge.
