``Raising Kids in the '90s'' will be the theme of a three-part workshop to be offered at the Portsmouth Campus of Tidewater Community College Oct. 16, 18 and 23.
Sponsored by the Regional Women's Center, the workshops will feature speakers from Maryview's Behavioral Medicine Services.
The Monday workshop will be on how parents can help their children succeed in school. The speaker will be Jody Alperin, who is Maryview's student assistance program coordinator.
Positive discipline will be the subject of the Oct. 13 session. Kathy Moriarity, a clinical social worker, will be the speaker. Moriarity often has served as a facilitator for women's groups.
Rich Jaglowski, Maryview's child and adolescent program coordinator, will be the speaker for the Oct. 23 meeting on talking to teens. He is a partner of Tidewater Psychotherapy Services.
The workshops will be held at the campus' Waterfront Conference Room from noon to 1 p.m. The series is free.
