Thurman Dyer Hix, 75, of the 600 block of Lanier Crescent, died Oct. 13, 1995, in his residence.
He was a native of Pulaski, Va., and was a retired electrician.
He is survived by longtime companion Alice Hoback; foster children, Tammy Broglin and Herbert Hoback; a son, Charles D. Hix of Suffolk; two sisters, Edna Summers of Pulaski, and Louise Warf of Richmond; a brother, Junior Hix of Pulaski; six grandchildren, Sherman C. Hix, David Hix, Alesia Horton, Kevin Hix, Rebecca Hix, and Crystal Hoback; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Portsmouth First Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Nelson Fields. Burial is in Pulaski. Memorial donations may be made to Portsmouth First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
