BETTIE C. PITT

Bettie Collins Pitt, 83, of the 1000 block of Blythewood Lane, died Oct. 14, 1995, in Obici Hospital.

Mrs. Pitt, the widow of Junious Pitt, was a native of Elizabeth City, N.C. She was the daughter of the late John Anderson Morris and Emma Price Morris. She was retired from Central Food Service. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 60 years, and former member of the senior choir, Eastbound Association Club, Widow Club and Home Mission.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Collins Boone and Mrs. Jacqueline Faulk, both of Suffolk, and Mrs. Goldie Mae Corbitt of Hampton; three sons-in-law, Walter R. Boone and Landi Faulk, both of Suffolk, and Haywood V. Corbitt of Hampton; two adopted daughters, Mrs. Lillie Bell Elliott of Suffolk and Mrs. Helen J. Brown of Chesapeake; one brother, Winfred Morris of Elizabeth City; one sister, Ethel Marie Morris of Elizabeth City; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Anthony Copeland. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Crocker Funeral Home in charge.
