Elna Barnes Whitehead, 88, of Robin Hood Road, died Oct. 14, 1995, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Whitehead, a retired bookkeeper for Powell-McClellan Lumber Co., was the widow of Mr. Ruby L. Whitehead Jr. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Marlyn W. Stanfield of Plymouth, N.C.; two sons, Leland E. Whitehead of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ruby Lee Whitehead III of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one niece, Jean Barnes Whitehead of Portsmouth.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Robert A. Edwards. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and other times at the Robin Hood Road residence.
