A murder charge against Calvin C. Morris in the 1989 fatal
shooting in Diggs Town of 60-year-old Anthony Crish was dropped. A
story Sunday was incorrect. In July 1990 Morris pleaded guilty to
involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of 39-year-old Gary
V. Peterson. Morris was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Bruce DeMars is a full admiral, not a rear admiral, as stated in
a story Wednesday about the Navy's handling of radioactive wastes.
The Junior League of Norfolk will hold its annual fund-raising
auction and cocktail party, Bidding Bash by the Sea, on Nov. 4 at
the Cavalier Oceanfront Beach Club. The league's Whale of a Sale
flea market is a separate event that will be held next year in
