Robert Clyde Horton, 81, of Route 1, died Oct. 23, 1995, in Roanoke Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Gates County, N.C., he was a retired farmer and had retired from Union Camp Corporation. He was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church and was an honorary member of the Eure Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie Morgan Horton; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Peggy) Pearce of Eure; three sons, Earl Horton, Frank Horton, and Wayne Horton, all of Eure; one brother, Clayton Horton of Winton, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Cool Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Horace Culpepper, Rev. Tommy Hayes, and Rev. Jerry Beck. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
