HAROLD M. DRIESSE

Harold M. Driesse died in his home on Oct. 20, 1995 after a long illness.

He was born in Peoria, Ill., Dec. 26, 1932, the son of John and Grace Driesse. He grew up in Manchester, N.H. where he married Yvette (Anger) Driesse, his wife of 38 years.

He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1951. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 1/2 years of service with the rank of senior chief petty officer. Having been stationed in California, Washington, Alaska, Japan, Iceland and Virginia, he was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, serving aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise. He was currently employed at the Navlan Tmetoccen (Naval Atlantic Weather Station) N.A.S. Norfolk as the Civilian Meteorologist Supervisor.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his five daughters, Dorothy Driesse-Hale of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Patricia Slawson of Ft. Smith, Ark., Sandra Driesse-Bunn of Clearwater, Fla., Margaret Frerichmann of Newark, Calif., and Karen Driesse-Halloran of Virginia Beach; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers; and six sisters.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated today at 10 a.m. in St. Gregory's the Great Church. Burial will be in the Rosewood Memorial Park with full military services.
