Police have arrested a 16-year-old and charged him with murder in the slaying of a man last summer.
Amber H. Whittaker, spokeswoman for the Portsmouth Police Department, said the boy will not be identified because of his age and is being held at a regional detention home. He has been charged with capital murder, use of a firearm and robbery.
Whittaker said police were called to 200 block of Dale Drive June 28 to investigate a report of a man with a gunshot wound. When police arrived they found 41-year-old Terry L. Flythe of Portsmouth. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
