Dorothy Congleton Black, 76, of the 4200 block of Greenwood Drive, died Nov. 13, 1995.
She was a native of Beaufort, N.C., and was the widow of Charles Leonard Black. She was a member of Ann Street Baptist Church, Beaufort, N.C.
She is survived by one son, Reuben Michael Guthrie of Portsmouth; stepdaughter, Yvonne Dixon of Palm Coast, Fla.; three grandchildren, Dorothea Ann Journigan of Suffolk, Reuben Michael Guthrie and Joseph Verlyn Guthrie, both of Portsmouth; two great-granddaughters, Diana Marie Guthrie and Linda Ann Guthrie, both of Portsmouth; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren, all of Palm Coast, Fla. She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Dustin Lee Journigan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Gene V. Primm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m.
