Eschol V. Wiggins, Sr., age 83, of 359 Old Boatright Road, passed away Sunday Morning, Nov. 12, 1995, in Emanuel County Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Wiggins was a native of Jenkins County, he had lived in Portsmouth, Va., for over 40 years, where he had retired as Quality Control Supervisor at Norfolk Shipyard, Dept. 030 in Portsmouth, Va. Mr. Wiggins returned to Garfield 19 years ago. He was a member and Deacon of Garfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Boatright Wiggins of Garfield; one son, E. Vernon Wiggins, Jr. of Cochran; two daughters, Mary W. Bowman of Athens, Ohio, and Donna W. Russell of Anchorage, Alaska; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday from Garfield Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of the arrangements.
