WRVS, Elizabeth City State University's campus FM station, has been awarded a $57,915 development grant by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
WRVS is a 41,000-watt full service public radio station licensed to ECSU for operation seven days a week.
To qualify for the CPB grant, the station met the requirements of having at least a 50-percent full-time minority employment. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting receives funds from the federal government and is a private corporation set up to assist public radio and television stations.
An on-air ``SuccessFest 95'' also received $15,000 in pledges for the station, General Manager Edith Thorpe announced. by CNB
