The City Council has tentatively scheduled interviews with city manager prospects for Thursday and next Tuesday, Mayor H. Rick Gardner said.
The council reached the interview dates behind closed doors during a continuing meeting on the hiring process Monday.
Five city manager candidates are expected to be interviewed by the end of the month, Gardner said. The goal is to hire a new manager before two council seats turn over on Dec. 4.
``We're pretty much still on schedule,'' Gardner said after the 45-minute session. ``We're moving the way I had hoped that we would move.''
